I’m Kurt Friesen, a landscape architect and design leader with over 30 years of experience shaping award-winning parks and gathering spaces where people feel connected and proud of where they live. I believe great design starts with listening— understanding how people experience their environment and what they value most. From there, design becomes a process of discovery and collaboration—shaping places that are authentic, functional, and built to last.
As a former Director of Park Planning & Development for the City of Fort Collins, I understand the challenges public leaders face—balancing priorities, tight timelines, and community expectations. Sometimes you need guidance and collaboration; other times, you just need someone to take something off your plate.
